Com-Pac 35
Southport, NC
$92,500 USD
This is classic sailing. Welcome aboard Polaris, a 1994 Com-Pac 35 Cutter. Designed by Charlie Morgan, this vessel combines amazing comfort and stability with surprising sailing performance.
Stepping aboard, you are greeted by decks that will make a moisture meter go silent – as the decks and hull are solid fiberglass with no core. The deck is in immaculate condition with non-skid that looks factory new. Going forward, all standing rigging is run to the hull with external chainplates. All sail handling – including halyards and outhauls – are led aft to the cockpit.
The cockpit is small enough to be secure in the roughest of weather, but comfortable enough to provide ample seating while underway. Navigation at the helm features a new Raymarine Chart Plotter C125 plus a variety of other new instrumentation.
The stern is a “Euro Transom” with a stairs leading down to the water. A davit system will allow for a dingy, and solar panels keep the batteries charged.
In addition to a full suit of sails, Polaris is powered by a Westerbeak 30b with 1855 hours. This engine is unique in that it has the ability to have a fresh water flush of all its systems, so that salt water can be removed from the hoses completely. Access to the engine for maintenance is either through each cockpit storage hatch or just behind the ladderway. You will be amazed at how well this reliable engine has been maintained. Avaition type maintence records for 25 years document every improvement and service made to this vessel.
Going below you will find yourself in a main cabin that is a testament to the craftsmanship of these vessels. The cabin ceiling and sole have been meticulously cared for by her current owner. The seating is ample around a table on the port side that folds up to create more room. Two individual seats are on the starboard. Headroom is an astonishing 6 feet and change. Keep cool with the DC fans or the air conditioning.
Just to port of the ladderway is an aft cabin that can be used for storage or sleeping quarters. To the starboard is the head with a shower and electric toilet.
Going forward from the main cabin is the very spacious v-berth captain’s quarters. This cabin is light and airy and will be comfortable both underway and riding at anchor.
Polaris is a boat full of stories from her present owner who is looking forward to those stories continuing under her new captain. This is not flashy sailing. This is solid cruising sailing designed by a man who knew the requirements of long-distance journeys. Welcome aboard.
