Welcome aboard Beau Soleil – “Beautiful Sun”. This 1974 Dickerson 41 has seen the sun in all hemispheres of the world. She is a comfortable ketch and cutter rig that truly is beautiful under sail. Her fiberglass spray dodger will keep you dry in inclement conditions while her powerful Hydrovane self steering wind vane keeps her on course. Her DC battery power is reharged by an Air X wind generator and 500 watts of solar panels.
When you have to motor, she has a brand new 35 HP Beta Marine Engine with 800 hours of use.
In the cockpit, the genoa and the inner staysail are all controlled by roller furling. The mizzen is right behind the wheel and is entirely controlled from here. The cockpit is wide enough for company, but snug enough to keep you secure when needed.
Going forward down the companionway you arrive in the main cabin. The galley is in a snug area to starboard with a 3 burner propane stove and oven installed in 2020. An Iso Therm refrigerator was installed in 2017.
Forward from the galley is the main seating area with a settee on port and dining area on starboard with generous seating and storage throughout.
Going forward, an unused head in on starboard, and a large v-berth is forward.
Going aft from the main cabin brings you through a work space on the port side and access to the large engine room centerline.
Continuing to the stern brings you to the aft cabin with a large thrawtships bed, plenty of lighting, and ample storage. The cockpit can also be accessed directly from the aft cabin – saving valuable time getting topside when needed.
This Dickerson 38 has a lot of stories to tell. Beau Soleil needs quite a bit of updating and some TLC to bring her up to modern standards – but she has the pedigree to be a timeless yacht in the hands of the right person to restore her. The owner is open to all reasonable offers.
